(Wang So)

(English version is at the bottom)

Welcome!

This time also, I sketched a character chosen from a Korean TV series like in the last time. It's 'Wang So' from the series named 'Shine or go crazy'. The story of this series is based on the life of the price Wang So, who was the fourth son of the first king of Korean kingdom (Emperor Theajo). It is a very beautiful story, and the drama has produced in a very attractive manner. Everything is perfect in this drama; the story, the dialogs, the direction is fascinating. Usually, historical dramas are not comedies. Even though this drama is not categorized as a comedy, it has a lot of adorable comedy scenes. Especially, when a comedy scene starts it last more than ten-fifteen minutes and those scenes appear frequently. This is a gorgeous drama, which we enjoyed a lot.

When we talk about Wang So character a little bit; he is a strong, a courageous, and an adorable person who loves people a lot. At the end, he became the fourth king after his two brothers.  The character Wang So (sometimes called as 'So So') is very enchanting and impressive thanks to the skillfulness of the expert actor, Jang Hyuk. Jang Hyuk's characterisation is perfect. I think this precise drama is so charming because Jang Hyuk is playing the leading role. He really knows how to express all kinds of expressions in a quality way, by preserving the original nature of them. I love his characterization very much. I saw an impressive comment about him on a website. In that comment he says;

"I rarely say I am a fan of an actor/actress, but for Jang Hyuk I have no problem with saying I Am A Fan. If he is in a drama no matter what part he plays, lead or not, I will watch it. He is amazing!!!"

I completely agree with him, he is really amazing! He is the best and most handsome actor I have ever seen.

Price to the story and to the leading actor is enough, now let's move on to the sketch. You can find the original picture, that I used to draw this sketch from here. please compare my drawing with it and give some comments. I really appreciate your comments. For this sketch, I mainly used a charcoal pencil. However, I have used a vine charcoal stick and a white charcoal pencil lightly at some points as well.

This time, I tried to avoid some mistakes I did in Yoo Shi Jin's sketch. The biggest mistake I saw in his sketch is the darker outlines which make the picture unnatural and lower the quality. I avoided that mistake in Wang So's picture. I used a vine charcoal stick for the outer boundaries because it's soft compared to the charcoal pencil, so I could blend the colors as I want and preserve the natural look.

I spent a lot of time for eyes, chin, and neck areas, to make them more natural and good quality compared to my other sketches. I am bit happy this time because I could draw them nicely. Other than that, this picture has another specialty as well. That is the lightning effect. I didn't consider the light source yet this sketch since I started this drawing habit due to the unavoidable liking to the Chinese brush painting which usually do not consider the lightning effect. However, Dhiraj's awesome comment could change my mind. What he said is,

"Add the lighting effect to your  sketches. It will add a value to your drawings. You have drawn by assuming the light comes from the front, but if you can draw it according to the angle of the light  approach, it will look more natural and more beautiful."

I tried to draw this with the lighting effect. Now, I can see what he really mean.

I tryed my best to illastrate all the deatils that I could catch from the original picture in my drawing. I think I could suceed. However, I know there are plenty of mistakes in my drawing. So please help me to chatch and correct them. I always appriciate your comments. They are all very precise to me. I never get angree when you point out my mistakes. Also, I would like to know how old this person looks like.

Bessing triple gems!
