My parents in law

(English version is in the latter part )

Welcome!

I am back with another portrait after a long break. I was super busy with my visit to Sri Lanka in the last month and my research papers writing. One is done, and still writing another one. However, now I am bit relaxed. With all these trying works and busy schedule, somehow I could manage to draw a portrait of my mom and dad. Actually, they are my parents in law. I love them a lot. My husband's parents take a good care of me like my husband does. They are full of admirable qualities that I like a lot. They helped me a lot at the time I am in Sri Lanka, they were with me all the time. I feel a strong strength when I am with them. I know, I am very lucky to have them.

By combining two different photos of mom and dad that I took during my last visit, I sketched a portrait with charcoal. This was done according to the nice idea I  got while sketching  Beg Thea Gil and Yoniyunguns' portrait. Sketching couple of people  who always live together in a one portrait, adds a value to the portrait with a vibrant. Here, it is very important to correlate the direction they are looking at, their postures, their modes, their facial expressions with each other. Because through that, we can initiate a small story. We all love to read or get the feeling of a story. I believe that if a portrait or a photograph or even a science/engineering journal article is underling with a story, then it becomes rich and  interesting.

You can view the original photograph that I used to make this portrait from here. Please compare those two and tell me what you feel. So, I can make some improvements or changes to my next sketches. You are capable enough to change the direction of the flow of my sketches since I highly value every single word you mentioned in your comments.

As usual, Dhiraj gave some interesting comments once I show this portrait. He said that I have improved a lot. "look, the eyes are perfect". Wow, I am really happy to hear that from him. Because this is the first time he rose a such a big praise to a my portrait. All of my other friends in the office also said that I have improved a lot. Dhiraj also pointed out that, the outlines of the colors are too dark. And asked me to make them light to get the natural look.

In this picture, I could successfully draw the white hair in mom's portrait which I failed in Dr. Ghosh's portrait. The secret is we should kept the area of white hair blank from the beginning without drawing any back hair. So at the end, we can compete it with a few back lines together with some white lines by a white charcoal pencil.

It's almost a year and two months from the day I started sketching. Sanath's mom is a fan of my sketches from the beginning. Do you know? she is the second person who encouraged me in this. Thank a lot mom. I could come this far because of you. I drew this picture to show my sincire gratitude towards all the help and encouragements you did, courtesy and politeness you showed, and comfort you gave. I wish you a longer life with a joy and a healthier with no suffering!
